Shifting Play Calling at the Line
Shifting play calling at the line of scrimmage involves changing formations or shifting personnel to make the defense uncertain about what type of play is coming. These pre-snap shifts can force defensive players into awkward positions and create mismatches.

Types of Shifts:
Offensive Line Shifts: You can shift your offensive line left or right before the snap to show the defense a potential run direction. This often causes the defense to adjust by shifting linebackers or safeties to that side, which could open up other opportunities on the opposite side of the field.
