AP's next-generation perpetual calendar also fits the Code 11.59
The end of the 5134 also means the birth of the next-generation QP Code 11.59 luxury replica watches, which is both modern and functional.
Last year, Audemars Piguet announced the discontinuation of the 5134, an automatic movement that powered most of its modern perpetual calendar watches over the past 10 years - mainly the classic RO Automatic Perpetual Calendar, which made its farewell debut in a limited edition collaboration with John Mayer. But the 5134 is not exclusive to the RO, having also appeared in the Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Automatic Perpetual Calendar... well, until now. In fact, with the introduction of the new 7138 movement in the Royal Oak collection, the brand's classic collection has also benefited from this modern, practical and enhanced movement, the new reference number 26494BC.
There’s a lot to say about the new 7138 calibre, and we’ve explained everything you need to know in this in-depth article covering the launch of the new generation Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Automatic. But let’s summarize as best we can and focus on the Code 11.59 collection. In 2019, when the collection was launched, it already featured a perpetual calendar driven by the same 5134 calibre as its contemporary RO version. This movement is based on the 2120 and 2121 calibres that have served as the basis for the RO Jumbo since its launch in 1972. In 2022, AP unveiled a new generation of the RO Jumbo – the 16202ST – with a new modern 7121 calibre that uses a 4Hz frequency, rotor ball bearings, quick-set date and a longer power reserve. replica watches review
Now that the old base movement from JLC is gone, the brand's perpetual calendar will benefit from the modern 7121 architecture, powering an equally novel QP module derived from the knowledge accumulated from the RD#2 concept. The important move is to a perpetual calendar controlled solely by the crown, with all corrections done by the crown, without the use of recessed correctors. The crown is a complex patented development, with multiple positions that make a difference whether it is pulled out or pushed back - full instructions here. In addition, the movement is now protected from damage if the user tries to set the watch while the automatic date change mechanism is active. Finally, thanks to the RD#2 concept, all the functions of the perpetual calendar are located in the same layer of the movement.
The movement itself is thin, 4.1mm in total, and modern. It shares the same specifications as the 7121 calibre of the new RO Jumbo, namely a 4Hz frequency, a 55-hour power reserve, refined finishing, a solid gold rotor on ball bearings and a balance wheel inserted directly into the inertia block. The calendar display has also been redesigned: the first day of the week is located at noon, the number 1 corresponds to the date and Monday in the subdial. The date also features a patented progressive step for improved legibility and better symmetry. The subdials have been repositioned and a 24-hour indicator has been inserted in the day-of-the-week subdial at 9 o'clock, with the red area being the no-correction zone for the QP. https://www.reviewluxurystore.com
The new movement is not the only thing worth reporting about the new generation Code 11.59 Perpetual Calendar Automatic. Let's start with the case, which is entirely crafted in 18k white gold. It retains the classic and extremely refined design of the collection, relying on an understated octagonal middle case, constructed from two modules including skeletonized lugs - and, as always, its finishing is spectacular. The upper surface is covered with the collection's sophisticated hyperboloid sapphire crystal. While the diameter remains 41 mm, the thickness has been slightly reduced to 10.6 mm (10.9 mm on past versions). A closer look reveals that there are no correctors on the edge of the case, as all corrections are performed by the crown. Water resistance is now 30 meters, compared to 20 meters in the past. high quality replica watches
The dial of this new Code 11.59 Perpetual Calendar has also been completely redesigned. Currently, this watch is only available in white or rose gold with a blue aventurine dial. For this new generation, AP has chosen the acclaimed textured dial introduced on the steel model in 2023. Created in collaboration with Swiss guilloché artisan Yann von Kaenel, who hand-engraves the basic imprint, the dial features a deeply impressed pattern composed of concentric circles, undulating from the center of the dial outwards and decorated with hundreds of small holes. A smoky blue PVD is combined here to further enhance the texture and evolution of the pattern. All elements of the dial are tone-on-tone, with white gold applied hour markers and hands - the latter featuring a redefined design for the 2023 steel model, with a hollow outline and luminous inserts. replica Jacob & Co. The Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Automatic Perpetual Calendar, reference 26494BC.OO.D350KB.01, is presented on a blue rubber strap lined with calfskin that matches the dial tone and features a textile pattern. The clasp is a white gold folding clasp.
This new addition to the Code 11.59 family proves two things… First, that despite the criticisms of this watch, AP still has faith in it and has given it a new generation perpetual calendar movement at the same time as its star watch, the Royal Oak. Second, the evolution of the collection is undoubtedly positive, with more features. This new QP version is undoubtedly one of the most attractive members of the collection. replica Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore
